Georg Redzek' s painting, expressive and eruptive,is one of the current painting streams which reflect the current situation and events in the world. It arises from an impulse of the time we live in, from psychotic, moods and depressions caused by the deep critical moment of our existence. However, this painting is by no means a simple linear continuation of such tendencies. It is initiated by the sense of crisis but has likewise overcome that crisis by its creative incarnation, its contents and pictorial energy. Briefly-Georg Redzek has converted the the powerful experience of our world into an expressive, suggestive and exciting expression through authentic painting.
Redzek's painting is a complex artistic creation. The multiplicity of total expression could be analyzed by considering its contents, its plastic and emotional properties and characteristics.
The presence of figure in these paintings chlearly determines the content and anecdotal character of every image. By that, howewer, one does not understand descriptive interpretations or "retelling" of certain situations but a concentrated group of painted figures which convokes a number of metaphorical potentials characteristic of images of surrealistic provenance, by its scenic effect and its fantastic Boschian iconography. The source of the "80's art and neoexpressionism in which Redzek originated his creative adventure. At that time it was really important to "stuff" the picture with multiple contents and pictorial data and thus maximally create a wibrant and suggestive tension in order to influence the viewer's conscience by aggressive suggestivess. At the present moment connoisseurs f Redzek'work up to now will recognize a process of certain purification of motifs and gradual lowering of expressive tension. That method likewise yields authentic pictorial results and thus Redzek's painting becomes "clearer, more transparent, calmer even more contemplative.
In a pictorial sense Georg Redzek maintains his clearly expressed and defined attitude that his complete pictorial expression is based on stressing the primary meaning of artistic elements. He insists on maximal affirmation of every one color in the picture and the color scheme is a group of all its physical and psychological symbolic meanings. Therefore one of the most precious values of this painting is the authentic pictorial atmosphere wherein everything originates, where everything exists and from which the total energy of the artist's expression arises.
Redzek's painting teams with emotions. It is a confessional and a completely intimate creation. The painter mustered up strength to penetrate to the most intimate corners of his Self. In a plastic sense this yielded an unveiled honesty of infantile drawing method and spontaneity of the color scheme, which gave the paintings an explicitely vitalistic note, just as explicit eroticism of images in the paintings declared the artist's belief in life's vigour and sense,in existential necessity. Thus Georg Redzek confronted all the manifestations of the crisis of our epoch by his paintings and-offered us hope.
And isn't that, in these times, a true gift of creative spirit?
